Identifying an Insulter-Offloader
Insulter-Offloaders are challenging to identify while in the middle of the situation. Their negative comments are meant to set a person spiraling in an agitated emotional state where logical reasoning is impaired.
Itâs typically easier to identify this situation after the fact. When the dust has settled, reflect on the situation. The Insulter-Offloader managed to ignite feelings of inferiority and, at the same time, have others do their bidding without a fight. They strike at the heart of boundaries and negative self-beliefs. They can offload their responsibilities precisely because they whittle away at a personâs value and worth, making them feel the need for redemption.
Typically, anyone who uses insults is taking a deliberate dig at anotherâs self-esteem. Belittling and subtly or overtly hurling insults are deliberate attempts to control others. Insulter-Offloaders are adept at sliding these jabs into the conversation so that a person may not even be aware they have been hit.
To help identify an Insulter-Offloader, do the following:
Become attuned to notice people who consistently insult others.
Listen for backhanded compliments designed to undermine self-esteem.
Use the power of your intuition to notice if youâre feeling under-valued and insecure around certain people.
Be aware of people who frequently offload work to others.
